Ancient Dragons

Description

I didn't have much time today, so this is just a quick thing of my new species, Ancient Dragons (known in their time simply as Dragons).

Ancient Dragons were the first to evolve from their cousin species, Wyrms (other species to evolve from Wyrms include Wyverns and Draca, both of which I will post refs for sometime after the break. Adalisks might possibly evolve from Wyrms too, but that will all depend on what is revealed in Zirra's Return) . They could only wield the element of Fire, which was the only element to exist at the time. They all have the same basic body structure - beak; long neck and tail; long legs, large wings; paws with retractable claws; a spike just at the start of their beak above their nostrils; narrow diamond-shaped eyes with slitted pupils; and eyes with vivid irises composed of a light center (by the pupil), dark edge, rays of lighter colour spreading from the pupil to the edge of the iris, and dark rings.

As you can see above, they come in a variety of looks and colours (all three of the ones shown are based on old adalisk designs of mine). Speaking of adalisks, Ancient Dragons are a sport-hunting species. The bigger and more dangerous your trophy, the more respect you earn. Among the top-tier trophy animals are tremors, Bokacandara (only after their discovery), and adalisks. To successfully kill an adult of any of the aforementioned species is to be the best of the best.

Ancient Dragons are millennia older than even Universe and Matter dragons, who are thousands of years older than the dragons in Spyro's time. Even before Malefor was born, Ancient Dragons had almost entirely been forgotten.

Ancient Dragons and Bokacandara belong to me
Adalisks, Zirra's Return, and tremors belong to :iconseeraphine:
